WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME?
Why Don't You Love Me? stems from a question that doesn't seek an answer, but rather recognition.
The figure is presented exposed, almost fragile, suspended in a state of emotional waiting. The expression is tense, the gaze seems to avert, as if the weight of absence were too great to bear directly. There is no explicit reproach, but rather a mixture of desire, incomprehension, and a need to be seen.
The work speaks of unrequited love, of the silent wound left by a lack of reciprocity. It is a question posed into the void, intimate and universal at the same time.
Here, vulnerability is not weakness: it is the very heart of the work.
